Young Adults in Portugal
Experience personal growth, wellness, education and build your resume for college, career or just build your personal life while living in Europe.
Some young adult students elect to participate in the core curriculum as their primary experience. For young adults who are working on personal growth, figuring out what is next in their life, the traditional core curriculum is more than enough.
Students who have more determined focus and desired outcomes add volunteerism, teaching English as a second language, apprenticeships, job shadowing, language classes, educational classes at local Universities, and other personal resume-building experiences that are customized to personal goals identified through the Tatori experience.
In the end, the goal is for each young adult to have a life long resume building experience designed to accelerate the next chapters of their life.
Students living in Pacia housing with their mentors will experience or learn daily living skills of all types and experience Portugal along with excursions to other parts of Europe.
Another option for a student seeking a deeper cultural experience is to transfer to a homestay family during their second semester.
Cultural experiences beyond portugal
Student groups, guided by their coaches, have the opportunity to plan every detail of day trips and extended excursions.
The excursions to other parts of Europe and sometimes, beyond Europe, are designed to meet specific desired outcomes of the current students at that time. Students will be expected to take part in the planning, budgeting, research, desired outcomes of the excursion, and more.
Excursions are meant to be fun and educational. And, they are also to create college-level experiential outcomes.
Expectations and agreements
While we understand that different people may have personal challenges, and Pacia Life is ready to support you in those challenges, all students are expected to live with integrity, respect for other people, respect for the local laws and culture, and to be active with at least 40 to 75 hours a week of productive time.
Pacia Life Portugal is a community environment. All students must learn to work together for the common good of everyone in the housing and community.
You will be asked to live by an agreement. The agreement is this. "I agree to do what is best for everyone around me, leaving no one left out, including myself."
During the admissions process, each student will do a student interview and these questions can be reviewed in greater detail.
