Danny Chu

Danny has a B.A. in English from Canisius College in Buffalo, New York. Danny charges every day with a deeply driven ‘work hard, play hard’ ethic. His insatiable passion for sports began at a young age playing street hockey in the cold snowy winters in Western New York, culminating in his teenage years with four years on the varsity lacrosse team.

As an adult, Danny has logged in hundreds of hours fly-fishing his native Western New York streams. ‘For me, fly-fishing transcends beyond sports into an art form..a spiritual connection with oneself & nature.’

His love of the ocean led him to surfing, a lifestyle exemplifying for him a perfect physical & spiritual balance. His passion for surfing brought him to the ‘enchanted isle’ of Puerto Rico.

His ‘work hard’ background is in landscape construction. Before coming to Puerto Rico he worked as a foreman for the same landscape/hardscape company for over twenty years. No stranger to physically & mentally challenging hard work, he’ll keep his crew focused & on task, seeing every job through to completion.

When Danny is not out surfing he spends much of his time rescuing & fostering local stray dogs. His life motto, ‘avec grâce,’ French for with grace, is a goal he not only strives for every day but is what he hopes to pass along to the students at Pacia.
