Miriam Ervin, Counselor, MA, LMHC
Miriam is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over ten years experience in treating depression, anxiety, substance abuse, as well as relationship and family challenges. She believes that when self-awareness is paired with motivation for healthy action, individuals and families can realize their fullest potential. Her approach focuses on achieving this insight and motivation through establishing trust, building positive self-esteem, and teaching healthy skills for coping. She uses a holistic perspective and treatment approach and believes that all elements of health and wellness need to be addressed to experience balance and a fulfilling life.
Each intervention considers all behavioral and environmental factors, history of trauma, stages of development, family of origin, and cultural components. In addition to traditional talk therapy modalities, building new coping skill sets like meditation, relationship skills, and cognitive reframing. Miriam works with all age groups and specializes in counseling for Adolescents and Young Adults.
Miriam is qualified to provide LMHC Supervision. She is a Certified A-CRA Supervisor and Clinician, Certified GAIN Assessment trainer and administrator. Her specialties are adolescence, addictions counseling (A-CRA, CBT, DBT, and motivational modalities). She also conducts substance abuse psychoeducation training and is a Certified Yoga Instructor (RYT 200).
