Community Mentor, TED Talks, Volunteerism

Anna is a community mentor who leads volunteerism efforts in the Salt Lake City.

As the founder of TED Salt Lake City, Anna Decker believes healthy individuals are the building blocks of a vibrant global community. She has chosen to dedicate her life to sharing the message that scientific research has confirmed time and again: mindfulness practice offers lasting benefits for your physical, mental, and emotional health.

She facilitates yoga at the Utah System of Higher Education, Huntsman Cancer Institute, private clients, as well as a weekly mindfulness sangha in her home studio.

Practicing yoga as a lifestyle, she also is the Executive Director of a non-profit called the Salt Lake Civil Network, a hub that supports emergent innovation and local/global human flourishing.

Anna is finishing a Master’s degree in Community Health Promotion and Education. She has been practicing mindfulness most of her life, but her dedicated practice really began while living in Guatemala for several years.

It was then that she experienced profound transformation through nutrition changes and intentional practices such as yoga and meditation.

Anna is the primary visionary and co-creator of bringing TEDx to Salt Lake City. She believes by bringing the most innovative entrepreneurs and leaders together for these events that everyone benefits.

Her life’s greatest accomplishment is waking each morning with a peaceful smile on her face.

Pacia Life is a founding partner with TED Talks Salt Lake City.
